The Bourne Legacy is really a 2012 American action thriller film directed by Tony Gilroy, screenwriter from the first three films. Paul Green grass was slated to come back as director; however, on November 30, 2009, he said he would not direct it, and Matt Damon later said that he would not make the film without Green grass.
On June 9, 2010, it had been announced that Tony Gilroy would write The Bourne Legacy as well as on October 11, 2010 Gilroy was confirmed because the director of the film, which Jason Bourne wouldn't be within the Bourne Legacy even though it retains the name Bourne as to identity it as a continuity towards the franchise.
Several scenes were shot overseas, mostly in Manila as well as in the paradise bay of El Nido, Palawan in the Philippines. Several subway stations and nearby areas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea were utilized in some scenes.
